FAQ

  • Start Time?

    • The Waverly Farmer’s Market opens at 7:00a every day all-year round. We are encouraging folks to be out there shimmering, shining, and shaking by 10:00a to get pumped up and enjoy the local flavors.

  • Departure Time?

    • We will leave at 11:00a sharp. be there or be square! (of course we won’t leave precisely at 11:00a)

  • How long is the walk? Will we be moving fast?

    • 1 mile walk on low-traffic streets

    • .05 - 1 mile per hour walking pace, approximately.

  • What should I wear/bring?

    • WEAR BRIGHT, SHIMMERING GARB: Inspired by wildly expressive festivals like Burning Man and Mardi Gras, Strutscape encourages folks to come out shimmering shining. This is a public, family-friend environment. So get crazy as hell, but please be respectful.

    • STAY HEALTHY AND PREPARED: Bring water bottle, a bag or fanny.

    • STAY MOBILE: If you are concerned about keeping up with .05-1 mile an hour walking pace, please feel free to bring out a non-gasoline powered vehicle to bop around in. Consider decorating your ride. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there will be tons of friendly folks about.

  • Cost? Tickets?

    • No cost, no tickets. Come have fun. Bring the stuff you’ll need to have fun.

    Do you sell beer, food?

    • Strutscape won’t be providing a single consumable amenity. Bring everything you’ll need, but know that you’ll have access to a ton of food and refreshment options between our start and end locations.

  • Can I bring a bike, wagon, wheelchair, lil rascal, or stroller?

    • Bring yourself in whatever method you can, as long as it isn’t powered by gasoline.

    • Bikes, E-Bikes, Mobility Scooters, Electric Scooters, etc are fine. We will be moving VERY SLOWLY.

    • No cars, four-wheelers, dirt-bikes, gas-powered mopeds. Be reasonable. Most people will be on-foot.

  • Does Strutscape need volunteers?

    • We will need friendly, level-headed people with loud voices to help cork intersections and keep people safe when cars are passing. Want to help keep things safe and fun? Reach out to derekvaughanbrown@gmail.com

  • Is this a Parade?

    • A parade is meant to be observed. This is meant to be participated-in. So yes? Kinda? You decide. No expertise required. This is a low-stakes, big-fun event.

  • Kid friendly?

    • This is not a children’s event, but we are big on family and community. We’d love to see your smiling faces.

  • Is it safe?

    • We will have a small crew of volunteers whose role it is to keep folks aware and safe during travel, but everyone will need to be practicing awareness and caution.

    • Wear bright, shimmering colors!
